Solitude was founded September 23, 2024 (11 months ago) and is actively growing a large and engaged community in Pax Dei Early Access. Our current goals are to be both experimental and positive during early access in the way that we explore and approach in-game content. These goals are in place to build a sense of purpose and establish a clear plan on day one of release in order to be immediately effective in that purpose.
Solitude provides opt-in systems designed and continually optimized for a large clan. These systems reward and encourage participation rather than penalize non-participation or setting activity or material expectations on members.
If you are excited about participating in a big, active, and highly organized community that wants to excel and shine at release, read the charter below and apply!

Pax Dei currently allows for an Alderman (clan leader), Elders (officers), and Villagers (members). Most members of Solitude are Villagers and can still fulfill functional Roles (Delvemaster, Quartermaster, Buildmaster - which are described in the next section).
Regarding Ranks, Solitude has these expectations/requirements for each:
Aldermen are responsible for overall/final decision making and clan mobilization. Their responsibilities include:
Elders are expected to be involved clan decision making and recruitment and maintaining the culture of the clan. Their responsibilities include:
Note: the in-game rank of Elder may be ephemerally granted to Villagers (usually buildmasters) for plot permission purposes from time to time. Because of this, the discord role (and not the in-game rank) for Elders shall be considered the source of truth.
Villagers (all members) have the following responsibilities:
Solitude defines three different functional roles each with specific responsibilities. The roles are Quartermaster, Delvemaster, and Buildmaster. These roles may be filled by either elder or non-elder members and are independent of rank.
Quartermasters are responsible for clan missions and supply. These responsibilities include:
Delvemasters are experienced raid leaders and organizers. Their responsibilities include:
Buildmasters are proven, prolific, and talented builders in charge of the main base and other critical or aesthetic bases, features, and/or structures. Their responsibilities are:
Solitude seeks to be a large, engaged, and positive community that provides its members with sustained activity and long-term vision. In order to achieve this, well orchestrated discord based and in-game systems have been put in place to encourage and reward participation with the aim of keeping members supplied, outfitted, and successful in all of their endeavors.
To that end, Solitude maintains a clan currency called "Sols". Sols are not a currency used to trade or barter, but is instead used to fairly distribute rare and "best-in-slot" equipment through a need vs. greed auction system managed within discord.
Sols are a measure of participation and activity, and will be familiar to those with experience in DKP or similar loot distribution systems. Sols can be earned in a variety of ways, such as raid attendance, contributing materials to the clan, membership milestones, and participation in non-raid activities. This means that members who prefer gathering, crafting, or market trading are rewarded equally to those who focus on raiding or PvP. The result is a system that supports all members, regardless of playstyle, as part of a community working toward the broader collective goals of the clan.
Missions are appeals for goods or services for the clan and are one of the primary ways to earn Sols.
Projects are sequences of gathering, refining, and crafting missions that continuously produce batches of finished goods and equipment.
The goods and equipment produced through projects are used to maintain the clan supply of items made available for consumption/use by all clan members. Surplus supply is sold at market for clan gold.
Missions and projects are maintained and reviewed by Quartermasters.
Requests are member-to-member appeals for goods or services. Both issuing and fulfilling a request through discord earns Sols from the clan. The issuer may offer additional Sols of their own as a bonus reward.
Solitude runs formal raids for all dungeons, temples, and occasional PvP events. During formal raids and events master loot is utilized where all non-trash drops go to the clan (with the exception of items collected by individuals from loot piles). The clan in-turn auctions all items for members via the need vs. greed auction system.
Raid frequency will vary based on several factors such as availability of progression content or the number of Delvemasters and their personal availability.
Generally speaking, the number of formal, clan-sponsored raids per week varies, but is about two per week on average. As the clan grows and additional Delvemasters are identified, additional formal raids are possible each week.
Items obtained from formal raids, missions, or events are auctioned shortly after acquisition.
Auctions take 48 hours to resolve and are resolved with Sols with a Need vs. Greed system. Specifically:
The strengths of this system are that it...
Solitude offers many other, more minor systems, such as Mailboxes and the "Ding" system which rewards players for keeping their skill levels up to date. Furthermore, Solitude believes in continuous iteration and improvement to all of its systems through member feedback and suggestions.
At the moment there is no formal activity requirement. Currently clan leadership will periodically review members and may release those not seen in a while or who do not actively participate in clan systems. In the future a more rigid system may be explored if the game justifies it. For now, we choose to simply reward and celebrate our most active members.
Joining Solitude generally follows a pretty rigid process (though exceptions/shortcuts are sometimes allowed for family members and close friends):
When I arrived at the Clan base for indoctrination, I had little idea at just how thorough the Clan management system was. Missions, Raids, PvP, and Rewards are some of the facets surrounding the clan of likeminded individuals seeking to carve out their niche in the ever expanding world of Pax Dei through a variety of engagement at your own pace. Solitude has the experience you've been searching for in a Clan that participates in many ways across the board.

The mission system in this clan is amazing. Taking tangible goals that benefit the clan and breaking them down into tasks that individual members can choose to take on creates a real sense of team effort and accomplishment.

Aged and lost, I arrived in Solitude searching… searching for those akin to the fortitude of mine own lion's heart. At long last, my people.

Thank you Solitude for making the game fun again while we wait to see what the future holds. Solitude is a game inside the game doubling fun!

I joined Solitude after my old clan stopped playing. What a huge change. People on at all times. Helping each other and doing missions to help build top level items for all to be able to do dungeons together. It is fun to play with husbands and wives playing together and many others I really enjoyed chatting with.

Games are about having fun. In mmo games it's also about the people you are gaming with. Solitude has a clan atmosphere of enjoying the game together and being supportive of each other. There's no toxicity or elevated expectations other than have fun together.

I was suddenly the last active member of a clan of friends. By luck I was introduced to a fledgling clan with strong roots and ambitious goals. A clan that provides structure, reward, camaraderie. A clan looking for those bold enough to help shape it, to which I found the call. I found Solitude and needed to look no further.
